BUSINESS CONTINUITY
Delivering new technology to the market
Sometimes referred to as disaster recovery, business continuity has become a fundamental part of every IT Strategy. As more and more dependence is placed on information and its availability, the ability to keep the organisation functioning in the event of a natural disaster and malicious action, is critical.
When developing a business continuity strategy, there are a number of areas to consider:
- Data and systems
- People and processes
- Buildings and equipment
For data and systems, business continuity draws on a number of different technologies and plans to ensure that the organisation can be back in operation with as much information available as quickly as possible. As an all encompassing plan, business continuity takes the following areas into consideration:
- Disaster recovery – the recovery of data
- High availability – accessibility of data and systems
- Data protection – preventing loss and controlling access
- Virtualisation – the server infrastructure design to facilitate rapid recovery
With stand alone solutions for all of these areas, we can incorporate them into a comprehensive business continuity plan.
When developing a business continuity strategy, our focus is on assessing the main risks to the organisation. While natural disasters occur, malicious actions and risks can be minimised and our aim is to design solutions which prevent the loss or corruption of data. We follow a series of steps to allow us to develop the best business continuity solution to address your specific risks:
Step 1: Analyse the existing infrastructure
Step 2: Assess data and identify access controls
Step 3: Evaluate IT and data processes
Step 4: Identify areas at risk and the impact of a natural or malicious action
Step 5: Design a solution to address weaknesses in the infrastructure and processes
Step 6: Implement the solution and establish a continuous assessment cycle
Business continuity has always been an important factor, but it is increasingly so now as more people work remotely and outside the usual 9 to 5 hours.
Virtual DR Service Offerings
CNT can provide a Virtual Disaster Recovery service, the solution provides a complete replica of your Server Infrastructure at CNT and then keeps the systems synchronised at a frequency of up to every 6 minutes. If your systems do go down you can browse into the Virtual Disaster infrastructure using just a PC with an internet browser. The available service offerings are detailed below:
